Blizzard one again shock us ALL!

Today started Blizzcon 2014, this is like getting Christmas early for gamers around the world! Leading up to this year’s show there was tons speculation on possible new expansion and games. As crazy as the internet is with rumors, leaks and just bad information, Blizzard was able to keep all their secrets safe!

Titan cancelled; does anyone else remember this report across the internet? "Blizzard throws away million and shuts down project". I also remember that blizzard is the company that will shelve a project if it is not up to their standards. This is good and gives gamers the best products out there. Following this method is how Blizzard has been able to stay in front of the gaming market for 20 years. Now that Titan has been cancelled what possible news could we get from Blizzcon?

Oh just a new IP called Overwatch? Well, dam no hype on this game until they showed it off at the show and it seems very polished. They are so good at keeping secrets! They are also going to put it into Beta Testing in January 2015? Like I said blizzard shocked us all and I for one and super excited. I cannot wait to play this and it is a first person shooter. I am not the biggest fan of shooters, but this game looks amazing. When is the last time you played a shooter where teamwork was more important than kills?

Hearthstone has a new expansion coming in December 2014? How they pulled this all off at the same time they are releasing Warlords of Draenor shows Blizzard dedication to their games. Goblins vs Gnomes looks like it is going to bring more craftiness into the game through these two different engineers. They make stuff it blows up; they make more stuff it blows up with an even bigger boom. What are we going to get that just blows up as a card, I am not sure, but I cannot wait to play for the goblins!

Wow, we can’t forget about Starcraft! A standalone product where is does not matter if you have played any of the other games! They have just made this massively successful game even more accessible to gamers who are going to want to see how the series draws to a close. The final chapter is going to be told and we will all see what happens to this living universe we have grown to love. Oh yea and they said Lurkers are back…no big deal!

This is just a small list of release and news they talked about today during the opening ceremony. Blizzard may take a lot of crap from the community because they are not able to be what every player wants them too, but they are still a top the MMO world, Hearthstone has taken e-sports by storm and now they are going to make a FPS? Blizzard has managed to show us what we should expected from all games we play as we watch them pour everything into just a few products to make sure we have the best possible game they can give us! I do not think they can go wrong.

If you want to sign up for Overwatch Beta click the link below.

As always I will keep bringing that BOOM and let me know what you think!!!

Is Leveling Dead in World of Warcraft?

GOOD MORNING AZEROTH! (Thank you Robin Williams) The upcoming expansion “Warlords of Draenor” gives every player a boost to level a character straight to level 90 when they purchase the expansion for their account. With this new feature, you can free up a fair amount of in game time if you are not interested in leveling a character or learning the lore. The question you will have to ask yourself is “how much time you are really saving by doing this?”

If an experienced player levels a new character, they can do it in about five days (/time played). The quickest I have personally leveled a character to 90 is in three days. This method involves a lot of grinding, not reading the quest descriptions, or taking the time to really interact with the non-player characters. Content will go as fast or as slow as you want it to. When you start to play ask yourself “What do I want to get out of this play session?” Everyone plays differently and WoW is made to accommodate the majority of players. This will let you know what you are willing to sacrifice and what kind of player you are.

Overall, it really does not take a lot of time to level a new character to 90. There are also other options that already exist to speed up the leveling process: such as the “refer a friend” program as well as Bind on Account gear that will give you bonus experience. Bind on Account gear takes time to earn and is most often used by experienced players to level alternate characters (or non-main characters).

When Warlords of Draenor releases new and returning players will be able to jump head first into the new content. Leveling may look daunting when you first start playing or come back to the game, but I promise it is not that bad. The question is how much content have players missed during their time away from Azeroth?

For example, let us say you last played during Burning Crusades (1st expansion 2006). Well, since that time we have seen the reign of terror by the Lich king end. A psychotic former protector of Azeroth loses it and try to destroy everything & everyone (Deathwing). Last (but not least) we cannot forget about the Pandas who were hiding on a giant turtle and shrouded in the mist all this time.

Each expansion has had its highlights and the content laid out over the course of two years. When you start playing WoW, you have to buy the World of Warcraft Battle chest which includes Vanilla through Cataclysm, then you have to purchase Mist of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor separately. Finally, you have to pay a subscription fee of $15 a month. Why would you not take advantage of all the content you are paying for?

For me, $60 is not worth my character being an instant 90, not as long as I am paying a monthly subscription. Leveling or paying for a max level character will come down to your play style and your feelings on the cost. I will always want to level my characters from start to finish to see the old flow into the new content, and to experience the lore.

Chris Metzen said “Mist of Pandaria was like a vacation”. Well, I can tell you this was one hell of a vacation with the moral decisions made throughout this expansion. How many of you wanted Thrall to kill Garrosh? I did, but in the end who makes the right decision? Everyone has a different point of view. If this is a vacation, I cannot wait for what is next! Please leave your comments and question below. Thanks and I will keep bringing the BOOM!

This blog and me

Hey, everyone I wanted to take the time to let you know who I am and what my goals for this blog. My name is Mike, but everyone knows me as Terinn23. I came up with my game name thanks to my daughters. It is a combination of their names and I know I would not be who I am without them! I am active duty United States Air Force for the last 14 years. I love my job and am very thankful for what I have been a part of during this time. My full time job and gaming have taught me lessons for each part of my life. Things from my job translate into game and vice versa.
I have been working toward a profession in gaming for the last four years through a verity of venues. I began with managing several different guilds as I played World of Warcraft. I have top end raid with some amazing raid teams (Horde and Alliance). I live stream (when I am not deployed lol) and I have some guides and videos on YouTube. Breaking into the gaming universe is not an easy task and I have had some incredible support from friends, family and advice from other streams and content creators.
The idea behind this blog is to share what I have learned from playing World of Warcraft and help the new players and those returning in the upcoming expansion Warlords of Draenor. I will also talk about other games I play from time to time and let you know what I think.
The games I am currently playing (when I have time) World of Warcraft, Archeage, Mass Effect 3 (one of my favorite games), Hearthstone, Thief, Guild Wars 2 (My Tuesday game) and Star Wars: The Old Republic. As you can see I really enjoy my MMO’s, the interaction makes the game and each has some amazing content to get lost in.
If you have, any questions please feel free to ask me and leave your feedback and comments below. I will respond as soon as I can. Thanks and look forward to talking to you all on a regular basis.

P.S. That is my Warrior Terinn from WoW.
